Affiliates Quarterly Meetups

Since our last update, we’ve taken significant strides forward by hosting another engaging call where we passionately discussed, debated, and ultimately launched the WCT Academy – European Youth League project. These quarterly calls are more than just meetings; they are vital gatherings where WCT management, licensees, network affiliates, and certified coaches come together to share insights, collaborate, and propel our sport to new heights.

The Purpose and Impact of Quarterly Calls

The meetups provide an invaluable platform for stakeholders at all levels to connect, exchange ideas, and align on our shared vision for the future. These meetings are crucial for:

• Strategic Planning: Outlining and refining our goals for the coming months and years.

• Community Building: Strengthening bonds between different members of the WCT family.

• Innovation: Brainstorming new initiatives and projects that can further our mission.

During our latest call, the excitement was palpable as we unveiled the WCT Academy – European Youth League project. This initiative aims to nurture young talent and provide a structured, competitive environment for aspiring athletes across Europe.

Welcoming New Volunteers

A key highlight of this project is the enthusiastic involvement of volunteers who are eager to contribute to the Youth League’s success. These volunteers have joined the Administration Committee, a dedicated team responsible for overseeing the league’s development and operations. Meeting every couple of weeks, this committee is already making significant progress towards launching the league.

Our volunteers bring a wealth of diverse skills and experiences, and their commitment is instrumental in ensuring the league’s smooth and successful start. Their tasks include:

• Event Planning: Organising matches and ensuring all logistical details are covered.

• Marketing and Outreach: Promoting the league to attract participants and spectators.

• Youth Engagement: Creating programs to encourage young athletes to join and stay motivated.

Mark Your Calendars: Upcoming Events

We are thrilled to announce that our first event, an exhibition game, is set to take place in September as part of the “WCT7 France Qualifiers” in Le Mans, France. This event will not only showcase the talents of our young athletes but also serve as a platform to promote the league and engage with the broader community.

Following this exhibition game, the league will officially kick off in 2025. We are planning a series of matches and events that will span various locations across Europe, providing ample opportunities for young athletes to compete, grow, and shine.

Looking Ahead: The Future of WCT and the European Youth League

The launch of the WCT Academy – European Youth League marks a significant milestone in our journey. It reflects our commitment to fostering the next generation of athletes and expanding the reach of our sport. As we look ahead, we are filled with optimism and excitement for what the future holds.

Our community’s support is crucial as we embark on this new chapter. Whether you are a coach, athlete, volunteer, or fan, your involvement makes a difference. Together, we can build a vibrant, thriving league that inspires and empowers young athletes across Europe.

Stay tuned for more updates as we continue to prepare for the league’s official launch. We look forward to sharing this exciting journey with all of you and making the WCT Academy – European Youth League a resounding success.
