Epic Showdown in Belgium: Fata Morgana Triumphs at the WCT Antwerpen Chase Off

In the heart of Antwerp, Belgium, the echoes of excitement and adrenaline are still reverberating after a historic weekend in September.

This monumental event marked the second time our Mediamixer entrusted us with hosting the only World Chase Tag (WCT) competition in Belgium, and it was a game-changer in every sense.

Notably, this competition made history as the first-ever WCT event to be livestreamed in three languages: Spanish, English, and French. With participants from eight elite teams hailing from all corners of Europe, the competition was nothing short of spectacular. Join us as we relive the excitement, celebrate the champions, and express our gratitude to all who made this event an astounding success.

The Clash of Titans: Teams from Across Europe

Eight formidable teams descended upon Antwerp, representing the very best in WCT talent from all over Europe. Let’s meet the contenders who left no stone unturned in their pursuit of victory:

Urban Corp (Toulouse)

Fata Morgana & Sandstorm (Israel)

Quality Movement (Sweden)

Trauma Tracers (Antwerp)

Untitled (France)

Overground (Switzerland)

Karma (The Netherlands)

Each team brought its unique style, strategy, and determination to the arena, making for a competition that was nothing short of electrifying.

The Path to Glory: Champions Emerge

As the dust settled and the chase came to an end, four teams emerged as the standout performers:

Fata Morgana – Champions

Urban Corp – 2nd Place

Sandstorm – 3rd Place

Overground – 4th Place

These teams exhibited exceptional athleticism and tenacity, leaving spectators on the edge of their seats throughout the competition. It was a tough battle, and every team showcased their prowess, making this event one for the books.

One standout performance that deserves special recognition was Dimitry Domakov from Team Fata Morgana. He achieved an astounding 75% evasion ratio, with an average evasion time exceeding 18 seconds. Such a feat is virtually unheard of in the world of World Chase Tag and demonstrates the exceptional skill and agility of these athletes.

Dominique Karlin from Team Overground also left his mark on the tournament. With 20 chases played, he emerged as the most prolific player on his team and arguably in the entire tournament.

Lastly, a shout-out to Loïc Giorgi from Team Urban Corp, who, at an age defying all expectations, scored six consecutive evasions, coming close to a world record.

The Numbers That Define the Event

This spectacular event brought together teams from six different countries, featuring a total of 41 talented athletes who engaged in an astonishing 218 chases. The sheer intensity and excitement of the event were palpable from start to finish.
